Wheelin' Wednesday: I've Got Connections

A friend of mine has a husband who works for 3M and can purchase various items throughout the year at quite a discounted amount. My friend knows I clean my chapel multiple times a month and offered to order items for me. Below is a picture (Ambrose is photo bombing-sorry) of my goodies! The dust mop alone was sold to me at a reduction of 73% of retail!

Wheelin' Wednesday: Iphone 5S

I finally caved and purchased an IPhone. I know... I am weak! Walmart is currently selling the IPhone 5S for $149.00 (plus tax) with their Straight Talk/Total Wireless plans. I believe the lowest plan is $45.00 monthly but reduces slightly if you purchase more than a 30 day plan.

$149.00 for an IPhone is a great deal in my book -what do you think?

Wheelin' Wednesday: Bring Coupons Back

Well, I have been trying to get myself back on the band wagon for deals and today I actually did it.
I picked up two bottles of shampoo which were on sale for 2/$6.00. I had two coupons for $2.00 off each and the supermarket doubled the coupon so I only paid the taxes of $.29!

How do you like them apples?

Wheelin' Wednesday: Eshatki (custom of less)

So, a friend of mine introduced me to Eshatki which is a website for women's clothing. What makes this unique is your ability to customize the clothing. Above is a dress I ordered which normally comes sleeveless, but I was able to add sleeves.  You can choose different variations of sleeves and many of the dresses allow you to choose the length (custom or just based on your height). You can also pick from a size chart or submit your actual measurements. My friend did that and was amazed at how well her dresses fit.

For my first order- I purchased two dresses and with shipping, customization, and a coupon- the total was $71.00.

A Little Warmth

Hubby and I picked up a couple of these little heaters to bring a little warmth into the room without turning on the heater throughout the house.
If you think about it- we will never occupy more than two rooms in the house at any one time. Instead of cranking the heat upstairs and downstairs- we just turn on our little space heater.  Once you close the door- the room stays nice and cozy cozy.

That's my story.

Wheelin' Wedneday: A Cool Deal

Picked up 3 Purex detergents at $6.29 each and a Crest toothpaste for $4.99.

Total was $23.86 before tax

I had a $1.00 coupon for the toothpaste and a $3.00 off coupon for the detergent. The Cashier allowed me to use an in-store coupon for $5.00 off of $25.00 even those I was a little short of that total. CVS also had a deal of buy one-get two free on the Purex.

Total out of pocket cost including tax: $2.70
Total ECB's earned: $4.00

Nifty, eh?

Weird Things to Re-purpose

Hubby was making fun of me when I said I wanted to keep the CD case holder. I thought it would be a good idea to use it for storage in the kitchen. What do you think?

I put the shelf under the kitchen sink (in the cabinet) and then shelved my aluminum foil, parchment paper, and stand-by mouse traps.

Good idea or bad idea?

Sometimes a Deal Isn't

I picked up this hairspray at a low price, but I should have kept my money. This hairspray just doesn't do anything for my hair. Have you ever used this product?

Wheelin' Wednesday: Birchbox

I think I have mentioned Birchbox before. It is a subscription service where you pay a monthly fee to have higer end samples sent to your home. You can then sample the products and review them on the website. Each review earns points to be used towards a purchase on their website.  Most of the samples aren't all that, but the reviews can really add up. As you can see in the screen shot below, I had earned $40.00 in redeemable points and then received a coupon for 30% off my purchase. This left me with a grand total of $2.00 and an awesome pair of headphones !

Wheelin’ Wednesday: Insurance

Hubby and I recently received our renewal bill for our home owner’s insurance. YIKES! It had increased substantially from the previous year. I contacted the insurance company to talk about our coverage costs for vehicles and house. While we weren’t able to obtain a discount on the home owner’s insurance, I was able to lower the auto insurance by $150.00 every six months.

The amount of time it took me to save $300.00 per year was less than 30 minutes.

We could drop the home owner’s insurance coverage premium a bit more if we increase our deductible. What do you think about that?

Wheelin' Wednesday: $19.87 = $1.87

So, I picked up a few things at CVS which equaled $47.45 and then used various coupons to bring my total to $17.25 before taxes. Everything totaled $19.87 and I received $18.00 in Extra Care Bucks!

Not everything I purchased is pictured here.

Wheelin' Wednesday: Jessica London Flyaway Cardigan

I purchased this flyaway cardigan from Jessica London. With shipping, it cost $20.98. Let me tell you, what a great cardigan! I love that this is nice and long which is great when pairing with summer dresses. The weight  of the fabric is light so you don't feel suffocated and it just flows with the movements of your voluptuous body!

Wheelin' Wednesday

Even though I prefer shopping online- I find that the best sales are located in the actual "brick and mortar" stores. I found this blouse 60% off at a local Walmart and grabbed it for the hotter months!

Wheelin' Wednesday

I got in on the CVS deal for soda from last week. Purchase 5 cases of a Coke product and earn $5.00 in Extra Care Bucks.  This is a much better deal then my brainless spending at the vending machine.

Yay for me?

Koolabura and BLUEFLY.COM

I can't remember if I have ever posted about these, but I know I have talked about them. I picked these two pairs from Bluefly.com as part of my Christmas gift in 2012 from Hubby. The interest for these came when I purchased a version at a discounted price from Target the year before. Using these in the cold mornings outside the abortion clinic really helped me keep warm and I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a couple of more pairs.

Uggs seem to be the popular brand, but they are high priced and are made in China. Koolarbura is another brand from Australia and they make the product in the same country/continent!   Couple that with the discount website Bluefly.com and you have a great combination! I can't quite remember what we paid for the black pair ( I want to say $139.00 with a retail of $350.00), but the camel color pair cost $43.20 which is a huge discount from the retail price of $150.00.

Bluefly.com varies prices so you do need to "watch" the website and grab when the price looks good. So far, my four purchases from them have been great buys with no regret!
