Saturday At Home

Today, Hubby asked me to stay home because of the weather but that always backfires because he isn't used to me being home in the morning!

It has been a very rainy day which I always like!

 

This week I have been better with keeping up on the household chores which then allowed me to work on budget records. Pictured above are the records for last year that I am trying to finalize before I get the tax returns completed. do you keep records like this?

 

Saturated Saturday

I forgot to take a "before" picture but, believe me, it was horrible!.

 

Today was a combination of working in the yard and making meals for a visiting priest. In between the two adventures- I played with Ambrose and worked on laundry catch-up.

 

This is a second weekend in a row where I was able to work in the yard and I already have another day scheduled within the next two weeks.

 

 

 In the afternoon I worked on putting together meals for our visiting priest.

Today was a fun and busy day! Hubby and I attended First Saturday Mass and Confession, ran an errand and then headed home. We immediately changed clothes and ventured outside for some yard work.  I must say you couldn't ask for a better morning! The air was cool and breezy and the sun was shining and seemed full of joy!  Hubby and I were able to handle the large task of breaking down some huge branches and hauling them down to the side of the road for pick up. Ambrose (of course) ran up and down the hill with me as I did the hauling. I also gave him a couple of wheelbarrow rides when he seemed too tired to make it up there! I am going to assume he will sleep well tonight!
The rest of the agenda included: laundry, hair dye, taking dog a bath, taxes (ugh), and normal household cleaning.

Dinner was parmesan encrusted baked chicken breasts and thighs with a steamed broccoli covered in cheese.

Epiphany Snow!

The snow started the night of Epiphany and carried on through until Saturday afternoon.

Ambrose was in Heaven! He was running around and licking the snow... can you see the snow all over his face?

Saturdays....

Today I went to the abortion clinic. It was just me and one man on the pro-life side. We don't have too many people out there these days praying, counseling, and fighting for truth and God. 

There  is a pro-death guy  we shall call "Charlie"that taunts and ridicules. This time I asked him if his goal was to do nothing but antagonize or if he really wanted to discuss and debate. For two hours I dealt with his nonsense which  he called "logic".  This man is an atheist and everything he discussed had to do with sex, drinking, and spouting  blasphemy about God and the Bible.   He told me that people who speak against the homosexual lifestyle are haters but his degrading speech to me was"education". He chose to deny the truth when I pointed out to him that liberals who claim Christians are haters and judgmental are actually passing judgment themselves by making that claim. 

He couldn't give me an answer as to how it was logical for the human species to kill their own kind because the baby was "inconvenient". 

He basically couldn't give me an answer about anything and jumped from subject to subject. It was interesting to say the least and just confirmed how primal and animalistic a person can be without God in their lives. 

Saturated Saturday: Lights!

My house is still a huge mess from Monday, but we had someone come over to do some work. This, of course, gives one incentive to clean while they work in our house. I made some progress, but it continues to be messing. We will keep pressing on! Onward Christian soldiers!

The project? We had some light and fan fixtures changed.

The previous owners had installed a ceiling fan for the source light in the garage! Check these babies out now!

There were actually eight fixtures changed in all, but some of them were the same as these posted here. 

Saturated Saturday: Wet with a touch of Volunteer

Just a Black and Yellow Argiope spider hanging out in my front garden.

Hubby and I have watched this spider grow in size at an alarming pace. You should see this thing spin it's victim before eating it!
Anyway- we keep our spiders handy in the front yard and try not to disturb them.

Anyway, anyway... it is a rainy Saturday morning and very cool for an August day. I had one window opened all evening and it cooled the house down very nicely. I don't think we will need to use the air conditioner for a couple of days- which is great!

To keep things even this week- I decided to move my next abortion clinic prayer vigil to the following weekend since I have some church volunteer work two days in a row.

Let us see if I can get the downstairs of my house in some kind of order and have a good meal on the table! I was doing better with over extending myself, but it didn't work this weekend and I am so very tired (thinking it is hormones).

Saturated Saturday: Another Confrontation

There I was, minding my own business...just listening to music as I cleaned the house (this is how I listen to music).

Just as I twirled around with the broom, Mrs. Steam Vac appeared! 

"Look at this floor! Don't tell me you haven't noticed a sticky feeling even AFTER you have mopped! Get your bubble butt in that kitchen and clean this floor!" I argued and ran away but she managed to drag me back into the kitchen.

Mrs. Steam Vac was right (of course) and here is what I pulled up from just the kitchen tiles! Afterwards, the floor felt squeaky clean!

Saturated Saturday: Help With The Yard

Hubby and I finally broke down and purchased a riding lawn mower to help with the yard work. Hubby doesn't think I am excited, but I am! 

Saturated Saturday: Deep Cleaning

Hubby and I plowed through two bedrooms and the bonus room (aka "Man Cave") with heavy duty cleaning machine. I was tempted to take pictures of the dirtied water, but didn't want to upset any stomachs. I must say that I prefer heavy duty cleaning versus the more mundane daily tasks. What do you prefer?

Saturated Saturday: Haven't Posted This For A While

I visited the abortion clinic to pray the 15 decades of the Rosary. Out of the seven vehicles that pulled up while I was there- four were teenage girls. They were with their mothers and one could only grieve and lament that they would be a mother/grandmother of a dead child.

Our parish is planning a vigil next week with our parish priest leading the way. Please ask your parish priest to start a vigil as a regular event within your church. If every parish could do this once a month or every two months- what a force of prayer!


After my time at the clinic, I left and headed to Dillards for a quick shopping trip. I have been trying to replace some very worn boots.... check Wednesday for pictures!


The rest of the event was spent filing paperwork and preparing for our tax returns...yes, more procrastination!

I then attended Saturday Mass which is such a blessing. I must say that our new parish priest has souls on his mind and I am grateful.

The evening ended with dinner and prep for Sunday Mass.

Saturated Saturday: Productive But Still More To Do!

This morning I headed to the abortion clinic for another prayer vigil. I then came home, made breakfast and then headed outside. The rest of my morning and early afternoon was spent working in our yard. I managed to finish covering our garlic rows with leaves during these cold months. I was also able to finish raking the rest of the front yard and hedged the first side of the driveway. I must say that it looks very nice. I am tempted to actually decorate the front yard for Christmas.
I worked the bookstore today before Mass and now I am home resting with a full tummy. Dinner of ground beef with onions and cabbage was quite hearty.

I can't wait to finish cleaning my house and yard for the holy days!

Saturated Saturday:

This Saturday I visited the abortion clinic for a 90 minute prayer vigil. Once again the pro abortion people were out there video recording us and holding signs that really don't make sense ( " Freedom is Choice" and "I love this clinic"). It is a sad situation altogether.


I then headed to my voice lesson where I came into a nice surprise. Well, this past week I recorded myself singing a version of the Ave Maria for my vocal teacher to critique. He let me know that he forwarded it onto the owner of the company and they both agreed on two things: I am still holding back and I should be singing opera. I was very surprised to say the least! I never thought my voice would suit opera, but I guess I am wrong! What a push into a new genre of music!


Back home, I was able to make lunch for Hubby and do a little clean up before I made my way to the cemetery. As you know, this is the week to pray for the dead and gain a plenary indulgence. I stopped by the cemetery at Saint Joseph's church which was built in 1845, prayed, and then made my way to church for Confession and Mass. Father also was having Rosary and meditation for the Five First Saturdays in front of the Blessed Sacrament, but I couldn't stay. I really love this new priest and his implementation of more masses during the week as well as an increase in devotions.

Hubby and I ended the evening with a symphony concert and a great trumpet concerto!

Saturated Saturday: Is There A Medic In The House?

Today was spent at home cleaning out rooms in a very thorough manner. I was really only able to finish one bedroom, one bathroom, and this linen closet (but they look nice). My medical shelf needed a good clean out of expired items and then a good bit of reorganization.


I then headed off to work in the bookstore and then attended Mass and now I am home with Hubby!

Saturated Saturday: Not So Productive

This morning the abortion clinic had a number of pro choice supporters. They actually matched our pro life numbers which is awful. We need more people out there. Consider giving a Saturday morning once a month.


I went to my first vocal lesson and I am so very excited to continue with these lessons! it has been a dream to improve my singing capabilities and I really think this is going to be the answer!


Attended Saturday Mass and then just came home. I wasn't feeling that well today and took it pretty easy today.

Saturated Saturday Back from Arizona

I just returned from Arizona (you knew that) and spent the day picking up the house and spending time with my husband.

Monday I will start a new job and so extra time has been spent putting everything in order before the big day!

SATURATED SATURDAY

I spent Saturday morning praying outside of the abortion clinic. I was so happy to see a large number of Catholics from different parishes praying and outnumber the pro choice people! Through more prayer and action- we will overcome the immoral deficits of this nation!

The rest of Saturday was rather quiet. I think I had a bit of heat exhaustion and really had to take it easy.
My tasks were of the quick grocery store, making breakfast, a bit of laundry nature.

Later, I attended Saturday Mass and then headed out to dinner with a fellow parishioner.

Saturated Saturday When Hubby is Away....

The wife will......clean!

Yep...no exciting adventures for me! I wrote up a list of 20 tasks to accomplish and I believe I am down to six!

My Saturday was filled with the abortion clinic, quick shopping, cleaning, and church. I wanted to just stay home and work on the house while my husband was away from me this past weekend.

I would definitely need another week to actually catch up to where I can breathe without that tenseness in my shoulders, but I am happy with what I have done.

Still on my plate:
Pay bills
Iron clothes for the work week
Finish folding/putting away laundry
Wash the last sink of dishes
Hang up the last load of clothes
Sweep

Will I get through them all? Probably not!

Saturated Saturday

All week long I have been suffering from horrible insomnia and restless sleeping episodes so I jumped at the opportunity to sleep in a bit longer than usual. It was much needed and gave me the energy to assist Hubby out in the yard. Our yard isn't super large, but it is definitely a two person job. We were able to mow the front, back and one side of our yard, plant our peppers in the side garden and till and ready the large garden. I have come to the conclusion that I am just going to have help with the yard every Saturday and just deal with the housework during the week. I know this will be difficult with all of the extra hours I have been working, but what can one do?

After working in the yard, we had dinner, and then I headed to church where I cleaned the bookstore, attended Mass and then drove home to ready myself for the evening.

Off we went to the symphony and now we are home!

SATURATED SATURDAY: Looming Lawsuit

My morning started with a trip to the abortion clinic where I prayed the 15 decades of the Rosary. There were a number of persons out there supporting the pro life movement. We also had the "pro death" gals out there video recording us as well as our vehicle license plates. Yes, they want to charge as many pro lifers as they can in a massive lawsuit that has been filed with 58 charges.

Observing these females (since they do not warrant the respect of being called a lady) one could see so much unhappiness. These females are verbally abusive to the men and women who come forth to pray and help these women seeking an abortion. They have such pride in their "work" so it makes one wonder why they foster so much anger and hate.
