I can’t remember if I posted about this before, but it deserves a second posting anyway! I picked up this doodad off of Amazon.com for $.50 and it has been worth it! Never in my life have I been able to put together such a lovely bun that lasts all day. When I take my hair down, it has a lovely curl and wave that one can wear as a hair-do. This is really going to be handy during the hot and humid summer months!

Poison Ivy is our friend.....um, no.

It is true love when your husband can make the rash look like a heart. I don't know about you, but I am smitten!

My husband's arms are a reflection of this past week. I do have this bronchial cough to keep the poison ivy company.

We are working on surviving the month of April and pray that May is a little smoother.

The unfortunate part is that I think the couch has some of the poison ivy oil because mine has spread. I have stripped all the bed... all the couch blankets....now I am working on all the pillows.

What a mess.

The laundry is still not done and now I am behind on the ironing.... I am such a whining girl!

Quick Update

Well...... the idea of waking up early for spiritual reading has fallen to the wayside. Why? Well, I am working overtime this week, Hubby and I BOTH have poison oak/ivy, I continue to struggle with some kind of bronchial mess and husband deals with his latest illness.

Unlucky? Us? :-)

Musically Manic Monday: Not Quite the Same Set Up

Well, I have been missing in action and most of you know why.....

I went back home for Easter, put a bid on the house, lost the bid, became sick, headed back to work.
I don't know about you, but it takes me a good week to get back in the swing of my routine. When you couple that with illness- it just makes a mess.

This will be more of a chit chat post in lieu of my structured Monday posts.

This week I am going to "attempt" to wake each morning at 5:00 a.m. in order to carve out a better space for my prayers and spiritual reading. I think this will also give me enough time to pack two lunches and handle miscellaneous little chores. This will mean handling all of my evening duties (dinner) within two hours. I will let you know how that goes.

Hubby has hurt his foot and was told by the doctor that he really can't do any yard work for the next few months. So, I took my medication, sprayed on the bug repellant and SPF and then headed outside for some lawn mowing. Hubby was still asleep but not for long! He awoke when one of our trees came crashing down on our shed (I wish I had taken a picture!)! The poor tree had become a home for termites and lots of other little bugs.
Hubby came out and ended up chopping that tree into pieces that I could transfer down our hill. I will admit he looked pretty hot with that axe and all that chopping...his muscles pumped up with blood... queue sexy music..... whoops! I digress!
While he finished that up- I worked on mowing two-thirds of the yard and will have to finish the rest on my day off this week.

We were able to get our taxes done and I destroyed our guest bedroom in the process. I am slowing filing everything for 2012 and putting everything in order for 2013.

We have double choral practice until the concert- wowsers!

My house is back to being a mess... I think that is it.

March 2013 Update ** Sorry this is late**

March 2013

Book of the month

The Double/The Gambler (Dostoevsky)** Finished this book on time**

I also will be picking out a spiritual book since it is Lent and I think it will be "Imitation of the Sacred Heart". One of my sisters liked and the other didn't so I have a 50/50 chance, eh? ** Continue to read this book on Sundays and I love it! I just mailed it out to a friend of mine.

Sacrifice of the Month

Lenten prayers and promises ** I would give myself a C grade on this one**

Corporal/Spiritual Work of Mercy

Continue pro life work and work on second cd for lady that is ill. ** Pro life continues, but I will need to slow down due to some upcoming changes. Unable to work on CD due to some of my singers being unable to record with me.**
