Friday's Favorites: An Easy Dress for Everyday Use

I discovered this dress last year and ended up purchasing multiple colours. I struggle with my longer dresses and skirts when I am home but don't want to sit around in my pajamas! For me, this solved the problem. The mid-length and the way this dress flows (swings) makes it so easy to wear!

Friday's Favorites: Polaroid Cameras

Hubby bought me a Polaroid Mini camera for Christmas and I have really enjoyed using it! I am sure the nostalgia plays a large part in it but it is also nice to have a tangible picture that you can put in a photo album or create a scrap book. I was even thinking of putting the pictures in one of my calendars as a kind of walk down memory lane.

It Only Took Ten Years....

Friday's Floral Favorites: Anniversay Roses

I was surprised at my place of employment with 24 lavender roses! Such a thoughtful gift from Hubby!

I had to share them with Our Lady!

Friday's Favorites: A Walk In Autumn

Just a few pictures I took while walking Ambrose through our neighborhood. Autumn is my favorite time of year with the pretty colour changes of the foliage and crispness in the air!

Friday's Favorites: Comfy Shoes

I picked these up at Kohl's and they actually surprised me with the comfort level. I guess these are made with memory foam and this helps me especially since I work at a standing desk.

I also like how these are wedge shoes which gives me a little height!

Yes, I needed a new lamp for my dressing room. Yes, I bought this on an impulse, but isn't pretty?

Friday's Favorites: First Friday Mass

I am so thankful that our previous parish priest started the First Friday Mass and devotion at our parish. The devotion to the Sacred Heart resonates with me and I am continually drawn even more so to First Saturdays.
How about you?

Friday's Favorites: A Happy Fish

Male Betta fish will build a bubble nest when they are happy and open to mating. The bubbles would actually hold fertilized eggs should he successfully mate. Pretty cool, eh?

Friday's Favorites: I Actually Finished Something.....

This was my guest bedroom floor earlier this year.
I decided to convert a server into a piece of furniture that would help my organization.

I finally put together all my records for 2012!

All my 2013 records are now filed!

My stationary needs are handled!

I still need to work through my budget and receipts but I am very happy to have tackled and completed this project! The weekend I completed this was a four day weekend which was almost completely wasted away. It was true illness played a factor, but did I milk it just to be lazy? I am not sure. You could say I was productive in some things, but one can always do better.

Friday's Favorites: Garage Work

Left side of the garage- what a mess!

My husband's "tool area".....and more?

Snap shot of one of the drawers.

15 minutes later and that drawer is more organized!

90 minutes later and we have a workable area!

Confrontation of the Vacuum

My vacuum confronted me. She wasn't going to let me pass (yes, my vacuum is female) until I cleaned those stairs. I tried hard to pass, but then I noticed that she was plugged in.....and ready to rumble!
After a momentary standoff, I gave in and cleaned those stairs!
Has your vacuum confronted you?

Friday's Favorites: A Little Organization !

As usual I was running around with my head cut off and just didn't think I was going to get anywhere with my house cleaning. Well, we all know I love a challenge... let's just call this the "30 Minute Make-Over"!

The Daunting Kitchen

Here is what I was able to accomplish in 30 minutes!
I even organized a drawer!

It is amazing how much you can conquer in such a short amount of time!

Then I continued into a spare bedroom that I use for dressing. What a mess!

So glad I tackled this project!

By Plane and By Auto- We Made It To Charleston!

I stole my mother from her peaceful home and took her on a wild trip to Charleston, South Carolina! Who would have thought these two home bodies would venture out on their own to a place unknown to their innocent minds!

Plane flights from one major city into another and then a long drive into the wilderness! Wilderness I say! Okay, it was really four different interstates with a stop for gas going and coming back, but that can be scary!

I think the carriage ride throughout the city was my favorite followed by the swings on the pier and the jail house tour.

Our hotel was right in the thick of it and gave us the "opportunity" to walk to many sites. I think it went relatively well except for a very bad tempered concierge. Mom was thinking he was having a bad day...might be true, but it partially dampened the memory of the trip. Luckily, the assistant manager saved the day with an apology and refunded one of the nights we stayed. I thought that was a wonderful gesture on her part.

One sad sight was during a tour of the Calhoun Mansion. The home was extravagantly decorated with the owner's extensive collection of various pieces of artwork. In the drawing room, was an altar to a Catholic church, with a tabernacle, chalices, and monstrances with a buddhas sitting right on top. How sad that this man didn't understand the importance of those items....much more than artwork. They contained Our Lord and should be in a church and not in a private collection amongst pagan objects. I am wondering if I could call and see if we could buy these items.
