SATURATED SATURDAY: SWEATY

Well, I went to bed super early on Friday and woke up this morning at 6:00 A.M.! I headed to the abortion clinic and sidewalked counseled and prayed for two and half hours. I then headed to the dealership for an inspection and then came home to clean for a little while. Cleaning rolled into a trip to the airport to pick up our visiting priest and to take him to the chapel. I then headed back out to fix him dinner (which included another drive back to the chapel and back home). I finally made my way back home for dinner. It's hitting 8:30 p.m. and I am not sure I can get my body to do anything else... don't even ask about painting....

How was your day?

Thoughtful Thursday: Have you Changed?

Have you ever taken the time to reflect on how you have changed in the last ten years? Did you change when you entered a relationship? Did you change when you married? Have friends and relatives remarked about how you have changed? Is it negative or positive? Have you become less selfish or more selfish?

How have you changed? Tell me about it!

Musically Manic Monday: First Day on the new job

I haven't posted in a few days, but I know there aren't too many people reading this anyway :-)

Hubby and I were able to go to confession on Sunday. That is a wonderful thing spiritually and allows you to start fresh with your spiritual life.

Work: I started my new job today. I am training for a number of weeks-which is a great thing. The training site is about 5-10 minutes farther walking distance compared to my old job. I am definitely getting a daily work out!

Music: I was able to give a private lesson to one of my choir girls. She is a darling and very much wants to learn the music. We worked on " The Magnificat". Next week we will work on this hymn and then dabble in a couple of other songs.

Home: Well, I was not in the mood (or something) to do anything this weekend so nothing got done...Sigh.... I think this week will be better. I am definitely a routine and methodical person. Monotony is my friend :-)

I am thinking of starting back up on my crochet project.. I really need to get a baby blanket completed!

Have to plan my CVS trip this week....looking for Therma Care items..

Wheelin' Wednesday: CVS

I am posting this deal again and then adding another deal. Why? Well, I earned ECB’s from this deal and want to show how they connect with the new purchases. I often see other blogs show ECB’s earned and then take it off from the final purchase price from the item, but my mind can’t seem to wrap itself around that. I need to see the average cost of each item using and not using the ECB’s. With that said, here is last week’s transaction and then this week’s transactions. I would really like to know if any of you think this is a good deal or if I am still not properly using my ECB’s-thanks!

Musically Manic Monday: The Calm Before the Storm

God has blessed us with another week-let us see how we utilize the time we have to be productive!

Work:I am working my last week with my company and then will head off to the new company. I have really enjoyed working in this department and only wish we weren't all being laid off. I have been blessed with finding a job right away and can only pray that this job continues for a good period of time. Money has been spent quite a bit lately on our cars which brings about a need to replenish our savings and add to them. This new job almost guarantees ten hours of overtime each week which will help with our savings, but will also wreak havoc on my home duties.

Music: Choir has been placed on a temporary hiatus until the second week of July. Most of the young ladies are on a pilgrimage and have been inundated with all sorts of parish life projects. I think this will give all of us a chance to not stress, practice music on our own, and come back to a new start.

Projects: I am determined to finish the Bonus Room by the end of June so i can start on the second bedroom. I have family coming in and really need to add an extra bed to assist with sleeping arrangements. Our yard continues to improve as we work on those outside projects. Hubby has the week off and intends to do some transplanting.

Budget: Hubby and I and are crazy ways are the downfall of our grocery budget. We both confess to odd cravings at the oddest times. I headed to the grocery store today in an attempt to stock us up more to help us NOT go out to the store for quick foods. We will see how it works with Hubby home and me at work. I tried to purchase snack foods (he is a snack food kind of guy) to fill his tummy throughout the week. I made sure to include fruit and salad.

That's my story! Tell me about your week and your plans!

Spiritual Sunday: Corpus Christi

Saint Andrew's Missal

We possess Christ in the Eucharist. Let us feel a holy pride in forming His escort and extolling His triumphs, while He is in our midst.

Gospel: John vi. 56-59

At that time Jesus said to the multitudes of the Jews: My Flesh is meat indeed, and My Blood is drink indeed. He that eateth My Flesh and drinketh My Blood, abideth in Me, and I in him. As the living Father hast sent Me, and I live by the Father, so that he that eateth Me, the same also shall live by Me. This is the bread that came down from Heaven. Not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead. He that eateth this Bread shall live for ever.

******

These words of Christ and yet, so many people do not believe in His presence in the Blessed Eucharist.

Saturated Saturday: Not a Long Day, but I am tired!

I headed to the abortion clinic Saturday morning and was confronted with cameras, video recorders, and sound recording. Since the death of Tiller, pro-abortionists have been bringing guns to the clinic, and are now documenting the work we do outside of the clinic. Who knows how this will be edited but it is evident that it will not be positive. Funny, they didn't bother to obtain the man threatening the life of one of the pro-life supporters. Even funnier was when the police arrived (after the pro-life group called) but proceeded to talk to the angry man and then left. Funny....
After work I headed to the dealership again and then came home for a few hours of cleaning. I was then off to open the bookstore, attended Mass, and then came home to work in the yard and wait for my sister in law. She was in town and spent a quiet night with Hubby and I.

What did you do?

Abortion

The Bible states in Deuteronomy 27:25 that there is a curse upon those who take a reward to slay an innocent person. Have you ever wondered what it would be like to get paid dismember people while they are still alive? The Bible states that there is a curse upon those who take a reward to slay an innocent person. I recently had the opportunity to witness to a sonographer at an abortion clinic that kills babies up to 14 weeks gestation. 'Nellie' said that she had previously worked at a late term abortuary but “couldn’t take it because they do late abortions there” Nellie had done ultrasounds on women who were killing there babies but,“I just couldn’t deal with that, so I quit The babies are so big.”

I asked Nellie if she let the women who came for abortions see their babies on ultrasound. Nellie said; “Yes,we ask them if they want to see it.” I asked if many of the women wanted to see their babies & she said: “Yes, that’s what’s so upsetting. Most of them want to look at the ultrasound. They even want the pictures. Now, that is what bothers me. It is just sick. We don’t give pictures anyway but, I mean, they’re going to get rid of them & they want the pictures. Some of them are big babies. Fully formed. It’s just sickening.”

When I asked Nellie why she thought the aborting moms wanted the ultrasound photos of the babies they were aborting, she said: “Most of them just want to rub it in their boyfriend’s faces”.

Yesterday, I spoke to another woman named 'L' who worked at the same late term abortuary where Nellie had worked. L thinks that someone should do something about the illegal activities there. Although the state only allows the murder of babies up to 25 weeks of pregnancy, she saw the abortionist kill an infant at 30 weeks. L explained how the abortionist would "talk about what he was having for lunch while he was cutting up the babies" & “He pulls the body parts out & holds them up like trophies.” Arms, legs, heads. L saw one baby’s head with his eyes open. This image is burned into her brain. L cannot get it out of her mind & she cannot understand & wonders: “How can they just keep on doing this over & over?”

L says that the abortionist made sure that the babies that he was butchering illegally were not recorded as 3rd trimester in the mother's medical chart. She said: "He had no trouble falsifying medicals record & with Hippa (a serious medical confidentiality law) no one will ever know." L explained how at the end of every day:“He scours records to cover records that would incriminate him, to cover his tracks.” “He would go into the record of the 3rd tri babies & change the gestation to 24 weeks.” “He even went over the path notes to change them to reflect what he wanted them to reflect.”

I asked, “Were any of the babies born alive?” L answered: “Well, he cuts them up into pieces, so…”

L said that "Patients were regularly abused" When I asked what kind of abuse, she told me:“They (nurses & anesthesiologist) awakened the women from anesthesia by slapping them violently in the face”

The abortionist who kills the babies at that particular clinic is also a practicing obstetrician. L said: “It’s hard to fathom how this man delivers babies and also aborts them. It’s like he has no conscience.”

L reported that they did 8000 abortions a year & was very disturbed by the number of women having multiple abortions. “Of the 50 or so (aborting women) I would see in a day, 30 of them were repeats.” L was shocked to find out that even after being abused by the staff women kept coming back, noting;“They did 22 on one patient” That was a record number of abortions for one woman at that place.

I know that many of you are probably saying to yourself: "How is it possible that this place cannot be shut down?" Tragically, although we keep hearing how much women regret their abortions, not much can be done about these illegal late-term abortions or the abuse because post-abortive women & the clinic workers are not willing to provide sworn testimony, medical records & evidence. We obviously need clinic workers & aborting women need to get their medical records from where they killed their babies & speak up & be willing to testify to the state attorney's office & the regulating bodies of their state.

Like all of the other women (with the exception of Baby Rowan's mom) that I have met over the years who were willing to tell me what they experienced when they worked at a mill or killed their baby, L wants to expose the place & shut it down but insists on remaining anonymous. “I feel guilty. My conscience is bothering me. I have been praying. I don’t want to go to hell. I figure if I do what I can to expose this, that maybe this place will get shut down & at least I could feel good about that.” It is entirely understandable why L is hesitating to come forward with what she has seen & heard at this particular killing place. She is frightened:“I have seen what this guy does. I am afraid of what the guy would do to me & my family. He has no conscience. I am not sure what he would do but I am afraid. I mean, he kills those little babies & it doesn't seem to bother him at all. He is diabolical. I have a family. I am afraid that he would go after me & ruin my career that I worked very hard for.”

When I first spoke with L she said: 'Believe me, I am very, very familiar with what Christians believe & I have respect for that.” During our conversation I explained to L that although I very much appreciate that she is willing to expose the unfruitful deeds of darkness, she cannot get rid of her guilty conscience by doing good work. I explained that that Jesus said that “There is no one good but God” & that the Bible clearly teaches that there is “none righteous, no not one”. I told L that we are all given a conscience & that God has written His law upon our hearts. I said: "L, we all know "You shall not murder" (aborting moms & abortionists & everyone who works in the abortuaries) & we have to press past this obstacle to sin against God & against the babies. We don't have any excuse for murdering an innocent person or for standing by while a baby is slain." I spoke several times of the holocaust, pointing Lyn to the FACT that men & women are basically evil & that is why they are willing to dehumanize Jews & the pre-born & then slaughter them like pigs. I said: "That is also why they are willing to stand by as it happens by either justification or denial or apathy or hoping that if it is really true that someone else will do something about it."“there is no remission (forgiveness) of sin without the shedding of blood”. That Jesus is the Christ, the Lamb of God who takes away sin. I told L that only by genuine repentance & faith in Christ can her real guilt, that of original sin from Adam & our own sin in thought, word & deed, be washed away & her conscience cleansed. I explained that there is no other way to be clean before God & men. I explained to Lyn that

I also told L that just like me with Pendergraft, there is no way that she is ‘safe’ from the abortionist apart from the protection of Almighty God. “Someone else could blow the whistle on him & he could think it was you & come after you.” I encouraged L to trust in God, who is all-powerful & to flee to Him, through repenting faith in Christ. L admitted “I am praying but I must not trust God because I am still afraid of what this guy might do.” I told L that if she was willing to go public, like on O’Reilly or something, that she could say out loud that she was afraid of ______, which it seems to me, would be MORE protection because he would be under judicial & public scrutiny. L admitted that might be true.

Won't you join me in praying for L's salvation? Pray that she would fear God more than man & would come to the knowlege of the One who is greater than the one who is in the world.

Pray also that we would be given the wisdom of God in how to proceed with the information that we have. It is all old news to me. I have heard the same kind stories about Orlando Women's Center for more than a decade. I have no confidence in the arm of flesh or the judicial system. Sadly, I also have no confidence in the church system. Our strength, our confidence, is in the Lord God of heaven & earth. Jesus Christ spoke the world & all human beings into existence with the Word of His power. The Lord upholds & sustains His world & His creatures by the power of His might. He rules His world with His sovereign hand. It is my humble opinion that this unwillingness by the church to provide a mass presence at killing places, day & night until the murder of infants ceases, is one of the reasons why over a millioin babies are dismembered & delivered alive into the toilets of parish abortion clinics. I honestly believe that it is the judgment of God upon our nation & her worldly visible church.

Even though I struggle with righteous anger & despair over the genocidal injustice we witness every week at the killing place in Orlando & in the other cities where the Lord is leading my husband & I to minister, I cry out with my brother Job, who prayed:
"I know that You can do everything & that no purpose of Yours can be thwarted."

Won't you prayerfully consider how the Lord Jesus Christ might use YOU to visit the imperiled orphans in their affliction & offer their lost mothers your loving Christian witness at the killing places? We currently have plenty of opportunity for mission-minded Christians to labor in the field of blood & souls at Orlando Women's Center. We will train you to take your own day & time to witness & by God's grace, rescue the perishing, in Jesus' Name. Thoughtful Thursday: Good Advice?

I have a bad habit.
My bad habit is that I like to read advice columns and I tend to read these in large groupings. Why? I think it is a curiosity of some sort. My life has been rather stable and has always lacked any craziness. I came from a sensible family, with sensible parents and siblings. We just didn’t do many crazy things. My parents brought us up with a good moral foundation and we never thought of offending Our Lord or our parents. With that said, I am often perplexed as to how so many people get themselves into the crazy conundrums and even more perplexed as to why they would seek a stranger’s advise who does not have a good moral foundation. They may say they do, but we know that isn’t true. As I am typing this, I am thinking of a particular advice column which will remain nameless. The writer of the column has been married (from what I gather) at least three times. I don’t know about you, but marriage is a vow and a sacrament and should not be taken lightly, yet she often advises persons to leave their marriage. What about the vow? What about the sacrament? Well, she is not Catholic, so she does not consider this a sacrament, but she does reference the vow. Let me give you an example of some of these letters and the advice that follows.

“Dear Stranger,
My husband has been in an accident and can no longer fulfill his duties as a husband. He has given me the blessing of having an affair for this only. Should I go through with it? Is it cheating?

Signed,
Other Stranger”

The advice went something like this:

Dear Other Stranger,

As long as your husband is okay with it- go ahead and have the affair.

Signed,
Stranger”

Did we forget that this couple made a promise X number of years ago to be faithful to one another through all good times and bad times? If the husband has lost an arm in a car accident and couldn’t hug the wife or love her in the same way- would the columnist tell her to have an affair in the same way? Was that aspect of the marriage the only thing that was important? Did the wife not have enough discipline and knowledge of self sacrifice to simply live without something?

This would have been my advice:

Dear Other Stranger,
At what time during your wedding vows did you and your spouse add a clause to be unfaithful to each other if something happened? Was this some sort of easy out clause just in case the going got tough? Were not the VOWS you made actual promises or were they just words? Do you not love your spouse and does your spouse not love you or was the love based on certain conditions? I am appalled that you and your beloved would even think of allowing another person have what sacredly belongs to you two exclusively. I recommend that you uphold the vows you made between God and your spouse. Fasting and prayer will help you curb any temptations to break your wedding vows and/ or to fall into any sin of sexual pleasure.

Signed, Bewildered

I received my free Burt's Bees Lip Balm coupon and used it for Hubby.
It's been an off week budget wise. I will need to get everything in order on Monday. EEK!
Target had the Air Wick Automatic on sale for $5.99. I used my $4.00 coupon and paid $1.99. It was retailed at $11.99-not too bad of a deal. I wanted to do a deal with the Softsoap Ensemble, but they didn't have what I needed in stock-argh! I may try it next week at the other Target across town.

Once again, I don't have a menu plan scheduled... I am the absolute worst at this.

Suggestions?

Musically Manic Monday: Craziness Continues

Monday continued the craziness of the previous week.

Music: The ladies choir sang this Sunday. It was not bad, but we are all in need for improvement. We will probably not sing the rest of the month as most of the girls will be on a road trip for ordinations. We can just have practices with any girls that remain and improve them in our standard songs.

Work: I continue to work for my current employee, but went on a fingerprinting adventure yesterday for the new job. On another note, the gentleman that works next to me currently will be working with me at my new job. He was offered and accepted the same position.

Projects: I haven't worked on projects since Saturday, but will be working on it Tuesday.

Budget: We managed to finish our first week with $5.39 left from our weekly budget. This week doesn't look so promising. Hubby went on a munch run (does your husband do this?) and spent over $15.00. I will attempt to make this budget! I will not be defeated!

Saturday will have a visit to the clinic, another dealership hit, massive cleaning (my sister in law is coming for an evening) Mass, and yard work.

What are you plans for the week??

Saturated Saturday: I am the Energizer Bunny!

6:15 A.M. and I was up and on the phone with "our workers" regarding the banister. They came, they saw, they took the entire banister home to rebuild. I, in the meantime headed to the abortion clinic. We prayed 30 decades of the Rosary and during that time there were two women who changed decisions and did not abort the baby. Afterwards, I headed to the dealership for an oil change, came home, took care of some laundry and then headed back out the door. This time I was on my way for toilet paper, a shoe exchange and flowers for Church. I made my way to Church, worked on the flowers, worked the bookstore and attended Mass. I returned home, made dinner, showered, washed dishes, more laundry, cleaned part of fridge, and then set to painting two walls in the Bonus Room. It is now 9:15 P.M. and I am just now sitting down. I think I may need to go to sleep soon because tomorrow will be a busy day as well.

Tell me about your day!

Wheelin' Wednesday: Quiet Week

June is another attempt to lower our grocery budget. This time I decided to give Hubby a food allowance for his snacks or drink purchases. I've only gone to the store once this week and it will most likely remain that way.

The only deals I came across (for me) were split chicken breasts at .99 per pound and Ragu spaghetti sauce. It was on sale for .99 and with my .60 coupon doubled- it was free.

Did you find a deal this week?

UPDATE:
We filled Hubby's prescriptions (two) and used coupons for the transfer to gain $50.00 in a Rite-Aid gift card. We paid about $13.00 which would mean we have a profit of $37.00.

The prescription took almost an hour due to a new employee... whew!

UPDATE:

Headed to Rite-Aid and picked up Cover Girl lipstick that was 75% off. The lipstick rang up to $1.87 and then I used my $2.00 coupon! Free plus overage! I received coupons for free ketchup and Oscar Mayer hotdogs. I also received samples for Cottonelle toilet paper and Aveeno Shampoo.

musically Manic Monday: The New Month!

Well it looks like I may be entering a crazy week! Let's give a quick breakdown:

Choir: I have come to the realization that a couple of my girls are in the very early stages of understanding music. What I thought was an issue with being tone deaf may actually be just a lack of understanding regarding the reading of music. I think that second choir practices for those girls alone will remedy the problem.

Work: With my current job coming to an end ( a job I have really enjoyed) and a new job on the horizon- it appears that I will be going onto a new adventure. Unfortunately, it will be less than what I make now, but beggars can't be choosers these days! If I take the position- it will be another contract to hire situation. Keep me in your prayers for that!

Home: The home projects are slowly coming to conclusions, but there is still so much to do! I hope to get the two outdoor projects completed in the next two weeks and then start back up inside. I have family coming soon and would really like to get everything in order before that time. I truly don't see that happening unless I worked every day on each project-yikes!

I have a possible grocery excursion tomorrow and Wednesday (depending on the ads), but you will know about that Wednesday!

Spiritual Sunday: Pentecost Sunday

Veni Creator Spiritus

1. Veni, creator Spiritus
mentes tuorum visita,
imple superna gratia,
quae tu creasti pectora.

2. Qui diceris Paraclitus,
altissimi donum Dei,
fons vivus, ignis, caritas
et spiritalis unctio.

3. Tu septiformis munere,
digitus paternae dexterae
tu rite promissum Patris
sermone ditans guttura.

4. Accende lumen sensibus,
infunde amorem cordibus,
infirma nostri corporis,
virtute firmans perpeti.

5. Hostem repellas longius
pacemque dones protinus;
ductore sic te praevio
vitemus omne noxium.

6. Per te sciamus da Patrem
noscamus atque Filium,
te utriusque Spiritum
credamus omni tempore.

7. Deo Patri sit gloria,
et Filio qui a mortuis
Surrexit, ac Paraclito,
in saeculorum saecula.
Amen.

V. Emitte Spiritum tuum, et creabuntur:
R. Et renovabis faciem terrae.

Oremus
Amen.
