Thoughtful Thursday: Are You An Office Scavenger?

The turnover rate is currently high at my place of employment and, with that, comes the hunt.
Hunt?
Yes, the scavenger hunt into the foreboding cubicle that once housed a fellow co-worker. But, what’s this? You hear noises of rummaging in the cubicle across from your cubicle? Isn’t it vacant? Oh! Now you see… it is an “office scavenger”! These co-workers of prey pounce upon vacated cubicles in search of more or improved office supplies compared to their own meager cubicle set.
Who are the scavengers? I would say almost everyone in an office! Last night, my manager was on the hunt for an orphaned desk calendar. This morning I found a better headset that replaced the previous headset that replaced two other headsets.
So, tell me, do you hunt?

Tuesday's Tip: Toothbrush For Your Face??

Maybe a bit weird, but I have started using toothbrushes to scrub my face and I love it! I am not pressing very hard and I can still see the wonderful results of the deep cleaning. I am going to test this out for another week in another last resort attempt of clearing up my acne issues.

Will keep you posted!!

Spiritual Sunday: Building or Rebuilding Devotion

Often, God will bless your soul with an almost desert like situation. One will continue to pray, but not experience the gifts from prayer (spiritual consolation). This is a test to ensure we are not spiritual/devotional merely for the "feeling" but because we know the truth and want to follow Our Lord to the glories of heaven.

To help with my own spiritual dryness; I returned to a book from my high school years.

The Blessed Eucharist: Our Greatest Treasure written by Father Michael Muller is a wonderful read that will open your heart once again to the love for Our Lord while simultaneously receiving love from Our Lord.

I have been incorporating a chapter each Sunday morning just before Mass to assist with proper preparation and reflection on Our Blessed Lord in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY: WAKING UP EARLY HAS A DOWNSIDE

I wake up at 3:45 A.M. Monday through Friday and, of course, need to go to bed earlier than most people.
What do I miss? I miss phone calls from family.
Last night my brother called while I was fading away into sleep. I could hear him say he loved me and missed me and it was nice to fall asleep to such kind words. But, I didn’t get to talk to him and that is hard.
It is okay, though, we will make all of our calls on Saturdays and Sundays and we won’t have to cut anyone off with a yawn!

Little brother-I will call you this weekend!

Promise!

Magic Erasers

I am sure you know about this tip, but I must mention it anyway!
I have been told by a few people that using a magic eraser in the shower makes for easy cleaning. Well, they were all correct! I used the magic eraser this weekend and took off all the soap scum in an instant!

Have you tried this?

Saturated Saturday When Hubby is Away....

The wife will......clean!

Yep...no exciting adventures for me! I wrote up a list of 20 tasks to accomplish and I believe I am down to six!

My Saturday was filled with the abortion clinic, quick shopping, cleaning, and church. I wanted to just stay home and work on the house while my husband was away from me this past weekend.

I would definitely need another week to actually catch up to where I can breathe without that tenseness in my shoulders, but I am happy with what I have done.

Still on my plate:
Pay bills
Iron clothes for the work week
Finish folding/putting away laundry
Wash the last sink of dishes
Hang up the last load of clothes
Sweep

Will I get through them all? Probably not!

THOUGHTFUL THURSDAY: Goals

Obviously, the ultimate goal is to gain the beatific vision of God. During the course of our lives we must always keep that in sight as we make our more natural goals.
Money goals haven’t really been set by my husband and me and I really don’t know why… I think we like to spend and as long as there is a specific amount going into the savings and the bills are paid….why not?
Course, now that we are on track for a move back to Arizona in 2012- we know that MORE money needs to go into the savings account.
I am hopeful that I have finally curbed my mini shopping addiction for the rest of the year and can save even more of this over time.

My question is- do you have money goals? Long term goals? Short term goals? If so, what are they?

Why do you have them or do not have them?
Feed my curiosity!

WheelIN’ WEDNESDAY: Money is an object

I am trying to get over to CVS this week, but it doesn't seem to be in the cards just yet. In the meantime, I really do have to put a stop to my crazy online shopping. I just plain enjoy receiving packages in the mail- it makes me so happy!

It really does need to come to a stop... I think I have one more order and then I will put an end to it all.... maybe a second order??

Manic Monday... is behind?

Home: I am lucky if I get half the dishes done these days!

Work: 60 hours continues to be the trend.

Garden: Wowsers! The squash is fabulous and it looks like we will have a spectacular watermelon crop. The tomatoes... issues..

Projects: I am forcing myself to clean out at least one room by the close of the week!

I am sorry I haven't posted much... work is keeping me busy. I am also trying to keep up on the other blogs :-)

Letter to Our Lady

Dear Mother Mary,
Please help me trust in your Son. Please help me overcome my vices. Please help me love Him and you more.
Help me to let God’s will be done and not mine.

Wheelin' Wednesday: A Hot Mess

Well, I was going to post about my deal at CVS, but it became a convoluded mess that was both comical and confusing! I have opted to let you know on something Hubby and I have been doing this past month.....not eating out at sit down restaurants!
I know this is common with a number of people, but I admit that I do bow down to this vice quite often and Hubby has finally put his foot down for the better! We have not gone out to eat for three weeks (heading to four this Thursday) and I am pleased as punch!
We know we are saving at least $40.00 to $50.00 each week and that makes me happy.
Now, I wish I could tell you the total savings, but I am way behind on my budget....
too many hours working!

Thoughtful Thursdays: Sacrifices for Your Goal

As you all know, I have been working a number of hours. I also have been spending money like a crazy buffoon (which is quickly coming to an end soon).
Monday will be July 5th and I am working that day too.
What? Are you crazy?
Yes and yes, but please hear (read) me out.

Hubby and I have a goal to move back to my home state in 2012. That move will be expensive and will also include the purchase of a new home. It is only logical to spend these 18 months or so saving up for the move and allowing a bit of cushion for any unforeseen (read costly) issues that may come up during the move.
On a side note- we all know that Hubby and I like to buy ourselves presents.. the money helps
