New Project

Pictured above is the latest project my husband and I are working on now until the end of the year. I had aspirations of making this area into a beautiful flower garden until I discovered the tree root issue. In this area of the yard the roots spread across the ground and do not allow for one to dig and really plant anything.
This past weekend Hubby and I laid down new weed guard cover and began to create  a rock border around the air conditioner units. We have a few things on order to be delivered to our home this week which should assist with moving the project along.

Shall we post progression pictures as we move along??

Getting Jobs Done.....

Well, it took me three Saturdays but I was finally able to complete the task of painting the  shed. This also included the replacement doors that a young man from our parish built for us.

It might not be much on the grand scale of things, but it is still nice to strike this off my list!

Tasteful Tuesday: Breakfast Lunch

My Saturdays are usually quite split which means I need to cook a meal that will cover both breakfast and lunch. Hubby has asked that I utilize potatoes this week and so I came up with this meal. I am not a recipe kind of girl but I am sure this dish pulls from hundreds of recipes from the past and present that I have seen on a television show or in a book.  As usual, I am into one pot cooking (or close to it)
One note, you can replace the jalapeno peppers with diced onions if you have little ones.

You need bacon!

I cooked the potatoes and peppers in bacon fat.

Once everything was cooked- I started to layer potatoes, cheese, tomatoes, peppers and bacon.

Once all the layers were put together- I melted the cheese in the oven for 15 minutes.

Flavor and spices: Salt, pepper, hot sauce

Serve with ketchup!
