Half Bathroom Remodel

Before: Vanity, toilet, and tile
Cutting the tile

Option One

Stay tuned for more pictures!

Option Two

We finally found someone to remodel our half bathroom! Yesterday, our friend started to lay the tile.
He let me choose the layout of the colours for the center section of the title. Which one do you think I chose? Which one would you choose?

Bathroom Remodel Update: It's mine?

Tonight I walked into my bathroom and it was the first time that I felt it was mine. Funny, eh? I have been filling the drawers kind of in a hazardous way until this last week. I actually decided what would be held in the bottom drawer and then I filled a pretty wooden box with various soaps and samples that really need to be used. Does my vanity look a little cluttered? Yes. Is it mine? Yes, and that kind of makes me happy....until Hubby walks in and says, " Stop buying soap!" So I answer, "What soap?"

"Oh...that soap."

I wonder if he knows about the other order.....

Bathroom Remodel: Glass is In!

Despite all my rage, I am still just a rat in a cage (or shower)!

We can look outside as we shower!

Inside, looking out!
Hubby is due to try the shower out this weekend!

Bathroom Remodel: 95% there...

Can you see the magnified mirror that will extend to the window? I can have natural light while applying make-up!

Well, we are just pending the glass frames for the shower and then we can move onto decorating!
I am amazed on how everything came together! I have to say that it is beautiful!

The master bathroom vanities were installed

Which do you prefer?
Did you notice the wall colour change??

We think we have no more than two visits and then everything will be completed for both the bathrooms! Woo hoo!

Bathroom Remodel...Part 189,000

First coat of paint.

Hubby getting a feel for the shower. It looks like there will be plenty of room!

Hubby didn't like my paint choice and made me go with something more neutral. This colour was my second choice so I wasn't too disappointed! :-)

Bathroom Remodel... I have lost track of parts/days...etc...

Some guy came to measure for the shower door... he was creepy. The man kept telling me he liked my hair. He asked if I wore a wig or if any of it was fake. He even walked to the side of me to check it out in the back and told me to never cut it and allow it to grow past my butt. He told me he wasn't hitting on me or anything, but come on... it is just hair. Creepy.  Maybe I should just wear my hair up anytime I am around men who aren't my husband.... creepy. Did I mention creepy?

Anyway... there was a lot of re-building door frames and creating the base boards. I spent the day washing clothes, getting ahead on meals, and practicing music. Yes, these guy heard me sing, but oh well.
The toilet will be hidden behind this low wall. The shelf will be great for Hubby's "reading material"

Bathroom Remodel Part III Day II

  1. We had a linoleum floor in the master bathroom.
Today, the tile guy finished grouting the master bathroom tile!

You can see the old tile work in the shower as well as the more confined area.
Look at this shower base! All I can say is wow!
Before
After

Next week, the shower will be measured for the frameless glass. As you can see in this "After" picture  the light from the window will shine through into the shower. My voluptuous body will be basking in the sun while I shower!

Bathroom Remodel Part III

I had the doorknobs changed out throughout the hallway and then the painting began!

Before
The new colour tends to pull a soft green/grey colour.
There still needs to be some touch up work, but it looks much better now. What the picture do not capture are all the crazy issues with our walls from previous poor paint jobs.

Bahroom Remodel Part II, Day IV

We just need the backsplash sealed and then I can do a thorough cleaning and then make this a functional bathroom.
So... really not much has been done. Hubby and I have wasted a couple of days of vacation  sitting around with not one soul showing up due to scheduling issues and/or missing stock. The only thing I can show is the hallway bathroom which is complete, save decorations and such.

I believe we might have the hallway/foyer painted on Saturday, but everything else is at a standstill due to missing tile. It looks like the rest of the year will be spent getting this done on odd days off.

The contractor miscalculated one of our tiles and now we have to wait on it.

I knew this would be frustrating and it really is!!! ARGH!!
