PERSONAL STEAM CLEANER

Hubby gave me a steam cleaner for Christmas and I finally tried it out this week.

This was a sheet before I messed with the steam.

After a few sweeps with the steam

Friday's Favorites: A Happy Fish

Male Betta fish will build a bubble nest when they are happy and open to mating. The bubbles would actually hold fertilized eggs should he successfully mate. Pretty cool, eh?

Snowed In!

My employer chose to close the company for the day due to all the snow and ice.
This isn't great for business, but a wonderful little vacation day for an employee!
What does one do with an unexpected day off?  Here are a few things!

As stated in my 2014 update, I finished a book:

I washed, folded and ironed various articles of clothing:

I practiced my choral music:

I went outside a lot to look at the snow:

Another Organization Post

Another mess! This time it is my medicine cabinet!

I emptied out the shelf in my hall closet

Is that another CD case being used in my medicine cabinet?

Reading List Update

I'm currently reading The Three Ages of the Interior Life, but it is 654 pages and deals with a heavy subject. In the meantime, I need to pick a new book to read ( I try to read two books at a time).

1. The Three Ages of the Interior Life, Vol II (Garrigou-Lagrange)
2. Jane's Fame: How Jane Austen Conquered the World
3. The Adolescent (Dostoevsky)
4. Dark Night of the Soul (St. John of the Cross)
5. The Autobiography of a Hunted Priest (Gerard)
6. Lady Susan, The Watsons, And Sandition (Austen)
7. The Ascent to Mount Carmel (St. John of the Cross)
8. They Have Uncrowned Him (Lefebvre)
9. The Biblical Basis of the Eucharist (Salza)
10. Ten Universal Principles; A Brief Philosophy of the Life Issues (Spitzer)
11. Memoirs from the House of the Dead (Dostoevsky)
12. Uncle's Dream (Dostoevsky)

The Autobiography of a Hunted Priest is a wonderful book and would be great for boys 10 and up to read.

Snow!

Another Weird Organization Idea

Yes, I have taken the second cd shelving unit from the garage and moved it  into a kitchen cabinet. Voila! A place to store tea, baking supplies, and random nuts (like Hubby and me).

Musically Manic Monday

Work: We have a new CEO for my company and the changes are insane!

Church: First Friday Mass this week. I am trying to decide when I can help with cleaning.

Home: My house is very dirty! I cleaned our Living Room and really scrubbed down quite a bit of the kitchen. I have so much more to do, but it is a start! My problem is that I tend to do this "all or nothing" cleaning instead of keeping it up every week. I am not sure how to overcome this deficiency in my work ethic other than managing my time better.

Budget: Wrapping up 2013 for taxes. I am ashamed for the amount of spending just for the month of January! I am struggling with a bit of depression and have realized that shopping is a little outlet for me. My goal is to drive my emotions to another outlet.

Pro -Life: I will not be going to the clinic this week since I have so much cleaning to do, plus my very full schedule.

Dinner Making: Not  a lot of dinner making this week due to my schedule.

Health: Trying to build up my walking again.

Music: I have two practices this week for our spring concert.

What's going on in your world?
