2024: Solitude in Silence

 

This is a quick read but spiritually better than the previous book laced with gaslighting and a political agenda. 

2024: Holy Silence

 

Great book if you can get past two issues: 

• the constant modern references
• the chapter on judgement which is basically a political mantra against traditional cat

2024: How to Speak Chicken

Just when I thought I was the one who was at this level of odd, someone hits the level and writes a book!

This is a fun read, but a niche topic for a special few!

 

2024: The Paradise of the Soul

The Paradise of the Soul by Saint Albert the Great is an absolutely wonderful book to assist with your journey towards holiness. 

My one complaint is that Tan took it upon themselves to change wording and add commentary for the "modern world" They also changed some of the prayers he wrote after each chapter on a virtue. I loathe that, folks. 

2024: The Lost Art of Sacrifice

 

The impression I received from reading this book, is that the author was a convert to the faith, was in the Novus Ordo, but was coming into knowledge of the Church prior to Vatican II. 

After reading the book, I read the information about the author, and confirmed my impression. While the " meat" of the book is lovely, the constant references to post-VII popes and religious was a turn off. It was just too modern for my taste. 

2024: Saint Albert The Great

 

As a Third Order Dominican- I crave books about the Dominican saints and their writings. This gem of a book introduced me to the great Saint Albert which has lead me his writings!
