Old Is New Again!

My mother-in-law asked me if I wanted a rug that she had in her home because she was looking to purchase a new one. I said yes as it was in much better shape than my current rug.
The funny thing is that she bought the same rug!

They Said It Couldn't Be Done.....

You can't even see how long this really is- we ran out of stairs!
It took just over a year, but I was able to give Hubby the Dr. Who scarf on our anniversary.

A THANK YOU FROM ALOYSIUS

"Thank you for my plant... even though it makes me flare with anger. I am also not sure why it likes to float. And, yes, that is me smiling."

Dr. Who Scarf update

Just thought you might like to see the progress of what will become a 15 foot scarf. I believe I have 27 more colour changes to go-woo hoo!
You can see that the scarf is now longer than our couch!

Dr. Who for Hubby

dr-who-scarf.jpg

My husband loves the British television show "Dr. Who".
He has also loved the scarf that one of the doctors (was it the fifth?) wore and I am now hoping to make his dreams come true.
I found a pattern and picked up colours that resembled the original and I have started the project. If memory serves me correctly, these scarves range from 9 to 26 feet (there was more than one) . I can't remember how long this scarf will be, but I will try to take pictures once a month or so as a I move along. Wish me luck!

Fancy Camera

I don't want to get all fancy or anything, but this is my new camera! What? How did she pay for this? Did she go off of budget AGAIN! Well, I did, but not for this!
Hubby and I attended my employer's annual party and I won this! This camera can be mounted on a person's bicycle or you can use it underwater!  I am thinking I could use this in some way at the abortion clinic, but I will have to let you know how that will turn out after I test it. Below is a description of the product from the company's website:

The HERO3: White Edition boasts the same high performance specs as the Original HD HERO camera it replaces, yet it has built-in Wi-Fi, new UI and is 30% smaller and 25% lighter. The HERO3: White Edition is wearable and gear mountable, waterproof to 197' (60m), and is capable of capturing 1080p 30 fps and 720p 60 fps video plus 5MP photos at a rate of 3 photos per second.

Koolabura and BLUEFLY.COM

I can't remember if I have ever posted about these, but I know I have talked about them. I picked these two pairs from Bluefly.com as part of my Christmas gift in 2012 from Hubby. The interest for these came when I purchased a version at a discounted price from Target the year before. Using these in the cold mornings outside the abortion clinic really helped me keep warm and I thought it would be a good idea to pick up a couple of more pairs.

Uggs seem to be the popular brand, but they are high priced and are made in China. Koolarbura is another brand from Australia and they make the product in the same country/continent!   Couple that with the discount website Bluefly.com and you have a great combination! I can't quite remember what we paid for the black pair ( I want to say $139.00 with a retail of $350.00), but the camel color pair cost $43.20 which is a huge discount from the retail price of $150.00.

Bluefly.com varies prices so you do need to "watch" the website and grab when the price looks good. So far, my four purchases from them have been great buys with no regret!
