WHEELIN’ WEDNESDAY: LOVING THE CVS BEAUTY REWARDS

Yes, I know, I don’t shop anywhere but CVS these days! That is actually true.. I find that working the deals fro CVS, Walgreens, and Rite Aid would be too much for my schedule.

I visited the store for one more make up run before my trip out of state.

Here is the shake down!

1 Almay eye shadow duo priced at $9.99. It was then reduced by 75% off to an amazing $2.49! But wait! I then slapped a $2.00 coupon on that sucker! Bam!

1 Revlon Color Stay Bronzer priced at $13.99. This baby was reduced to $3.49.

1 Revlon Super Luster lip gloss priced at $8.99 and then reduced to $2.25 and then reduced by another $1.00 with my coupon.

1 Rimmel Blushed priced at $5.49 and then reduced to $1.37.

Now here is the kicker… I scanned by ECB card and hit the jackpot with a $5.00 coupon for any two Revlon products.

My total of $9.60 was reduced by $8.00 after all the coupons (and before taxes) to a lovely $1.60!

$.40 for each product isn’t too shabby for a quick trip!

I SAW SOMEONE DIE

Three weeks ago I was driving home from work when I came upon an accident.
It had just occurred… I don’t think one minute had passed.
The right hand lane had a semi-truck stopped. It was stopped and a man was getting out of the vehicle and waving the on going traffic into the left lane.
And, there she was. She was on the street. Her left leg was over her shoulder and her right leg was separated from her body. I can see the white socks and white tennis shoes now. She had on a jean skirt and a wind breaker jacket. Her hair was short and black… and she was still alive. I could see her hands moving and I watched as another driver ran past my vehicle to help her.
I prayed for her the entire drive home, but I knew no person could survive such a horrible accident. The news confirmed the death, but they could not confirm her identity.

I drive down that same street five days a week and the same thought crosses my mind as I see the blood stain slowly fading away; will my memory of her fade before the fade of the blood stain? Will I forget to pray for her soul? Will I?

Musically Manic Monday : Snow and Snow!

This is a shot of our side yard full to the brim with snow! Obviously, I did not go to work today and it doesn't look like I will be heading out tomorrow.

This, changes my schedule and I would say for the better since I can be home more. I have already spent a good part of the day cleaning and doing laundry. I was able to take care of quite a bit of ironing for the next two weeks!

Bulk cooking will take place tomorrow which may include a great beef stew.

Church: We ordered in a stand for ten different Catholic classics. We have been working on re-organizing the bookstore and should have it done by Saturday.

Home: Clean, clean, clean!

Work: All caught up so I am not too worried about missing a couple of days.

Volunteer: Visited the abortion clinic this past Saturday to pray and counsel. Keep these women in your prayers. They need help...they need to keep these babies alive!

Projects: I need to take care of some painting soon.

Music: Starting an opera piece!

TASTEFUL TUESDAYS : PREPARING!

Today starts the 2011 Budget Challenge as well as my new schedule of working four days a week (ten hour shifts).
The day off will be wonderful for so many reasons-here are just a few!

Saves on gas
Saves me two hours a week just in driving alone
More time to take care of my spiritual, volunteer, and household activities

I spent part of my weekend preparing foods and cooking ahead for the week.

I was able to pack four servings of scrambled eggs and bacon, sauteed chicken sausage with mushrooms, and creamed sweet potatoes.
I also cooked another pound of bacon, roasted a chicken, and sliced up mushrooms for another meal.

Christmas Pictures!

Here are few more shots of our Christmas decorations.

I love that we picked this tree up for $3.00 and had it decorated on December 23rd!

Hubby handled the Christmas cards!

I love to decorate for Christmas and simply take my time as I decorate. I also tend to add extra touches as the Christmastide continues into the new year!
