The impression I received from reading this book, is that the author was a convert to the faith, was in the Novus Ordo, but was coming into knowledge of the Church prior to Vatican II.
After reading the book, I read the information about the author, and confirmed my impression. While the " meat" of the book is lovely, the constant references to post-VII popes and religious was a turn off. It was just too modern for my taste.
