My Midnight Mass Outfit

It is hard to see but the skirt and base colour of the blouse is a dark blue. The sweater is a pretty, rich, pink.

Make-up Is My Whore....

I know it is shocking to all who read this but from April 1st through December 31st I will not be purchasing any make-up products for myself.

I am choosing to do this as a sacrifice for a special intention but also to help with temperance.

What I may do is post showing the items I have completely used over the next nine months.... let me know what you think.

Review and Comparison: Urband Decay and Wet N' Wild

If you know me then you know I am pretty obsessed with make-up but I don't usually post too often on the subject. I don't post because I figure my readers (siblings wouldn't be too interested). However, I thought the girls might be interested in a comparison of a drugstore product and a department store product.

Urban Decay
versus
Wet N' Wild

Urban Decay sells higher priced products that I generally enjoy and they often have sales but not on this particular product.
This palette includes 12 colours.

Current price $54.00 from Urbandecay.com
Wet N' Wild includes 10 colours and the price is about 90% cheaper than Urban Decay.
$5.62 from Walmart

Here are a few shots of some of the colours for comparison and you can see that there is a lot of similarity.
Wet N' Wild is the top colour.

Can you tell the difference between these two?

One eye was done with Wet N' Wild and the other with Urban Decay- which is which? Can you tell the difference?

Natural light

Yes, my eyes are not shaped the same.... shameful.

I found that Wet N' Wild seemed to be softer/easier to apply than the Urban Decay. The colour pay off was about the same for each and neither gave me any problems.

Ambrose was not impressed... as usual.

Let's Talk Make-up!

Now, I know that my sisters who read this blog are not big time make-up users, but sometimes a gal has to talk about this stuff!

I purchased E.L.F. Cosmetics’ foundation primer and I am so impressed! This stuff makes your face so smooth and really helps with the application of your foundation.

Price point is $6.00 and you can purchase online or at your local Walmart (and other stores).

The downside is that this is made with all sorts of crazy chemicals so you might not be into that.

Maybelline Better Skin Foundation Review

I am signed up with Influenster and received Maybelline's Superstay Better Skin foundation for a three week test run.

This week is the finalization of the test/challenge with the premise that one will have better looking skin in three weeks.

The advertisement also mentions all-day flawless coverage.

Coverage: I would call this medium coverage. I could definitely see some of my blemishes and had to use a heavier foundation or concealer to cover some of the problem areas.

Better skin: I didn't see a noticeable difference in my skin.

Look: The foundation itself was nice and provided a good coverage if you have  good skin with little or no issue with blemishes.

Summary: This would not be in my top picks for foundations but I think it is nice and I could see myself purchasing this if I found a good deal.

Don't Sit!

Just a snippet of a article talking about the benefits of standing versus sitting.  I am wondering if I will see some kind of weight loss in the future. I have noticed that my back doesn't hurt so much which may mean my muscles are strengthening.

"Standing allows your body to adjust and move easily flexing your muscles continuously. It also keeps your blood circulating well. All this keeps your blood sugar better regulated and keeps your blood pressure lower. And it lets you live longer."

A Pretty New Head Covering...

In India this is called a dupatta, but to most, we would call it a mantilla or veil.
What do you think? Pretty?

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Nail Polish Duo

I picked this up recently. It is a gel nail polish that is supposed to last up to two weeks without any chips. How many days did it last for me? 1 day....

My Closet Quest

Thought you might like to see a few pictures of a dress I will keep in my closet. As I stated a post or two back- I am slowly weeding out clothes that are just yucky.

I wore a green tank to help with the gap.

So many colours to work with for accents and jewelry ideas!

I Don't Like My Clothes....

So.... I get up early for work and I need clothing that I can put together quickly (so I don't have to get up any earlier).  Well, lately I have noticed that I just don't like my clothes.

My clothes are too small
Too long
Too short
Stained
Styles I don't wear
Shorter sleeves than I wear now
Too hot
Don't like the material
Too big
Uncomfortable

So, right now, I am slowly getting rid of clothes I loathe as I buy clothes I like. The other day, for instance, I was wearing this green tank top under a cardigan and the minute I got home-that thing went in the trash. It was just ugly and worn out looking even though it was less than a year old. Poor quality and it did nothing for me.
That's my story.

Dread the Tread

So, my in-laws gave Hubby and me their old treadmill. I love a good walk outdoors, but I loathe people staring at me as I venture around the neighborhood.  I am hoping this machine does the trick in fulfilling my body's excercise needs while keeping me out of sight from stalkers who long for my glorious curves. Now... here is a list of things you cannot or should not do while on a treadmill. The emphasis is on should, but that is all relative.. isn't it?

1. Do not jump on and off the treadmill while it is running at a fast pace.
 2. Do not jump on and off the treadmill at any pace.
 3. Do not knit while walking on a treadmill.. knitting needles are sharp.
4. Do not wear anything longer than you on a treadmill.
 5. Do not cut up old mail on a treadmill using scissors.

I am sure there will be additional "do not" items in the future, but this is all for now. Please note that my husband is never around during these events.... but he has seen the aftermath (which included not being able to breathe/swallow and then eventually throwing up). He does not condone my behaviour... that is all... for now... I'm funny... and a mermaid... the end.. or is it?

I can’t remember if I posted about this before, but it deserves a second posting anyway! I picked up this doodad off of Amazon.com for $.50 and it has been worth it! Never in my life have I been able to put together such a lovely bun that lasts all day. When I take my hair down, it has a lovely curl and wave that one can wear as a hair-do. This is really going to be handy during the hot and humid summer months!

shaving one's leg? Yes! I picked up this idea recently, attempted, and found success! Using baby oil leaves me with a good shave and very smooth legs! When you have a moment- give it a try!

Should I do another thirty day run? I'm thinking I maybe should and just perfect it even more......tell me!
